Prof. Dr. Christiane Jost (1962) studied economics at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg. After graduating, she spent a year abroad at the University of Sussex in Brighton from 1987 to 1988, where she gained a Master of Science in Mathematics. She completed her doctorate in 1994 at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich on a risk management topic in the insurance sector. Her professional career at KPMG, Helvetia Insurance and later as an independent consultant also focused on insurance and insurance risk management.
In 2001, she was appointed Professor of Insurance Business Administration at the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences in Wiesbaden. There she taught numerous courses in the areas of non-life and personal insurance, special business administration and corporate governance. From 2003 to 2008, she was also Vice Dean of the department, where she led the transition from diploma courses to Bachelor’s and Master’s degree courses. From 2010 to 2025, she was the university’s Vice President for Studies, Teaching and International Affairs. During this time, she introduced Quality Management in teaching and learning, which led to system accreditation in 2022. She took part in accreditations in numerous different roles. From 2013 to 2025, Christiane Jost was a member of the Board of ACQUIN e.V.
Christiane Jost is also involved in various Bodies, committees and networks at national and international level. These include her membership of the Learning & Teaching Steering Committee of the European University Association and the University Council of the University of Koblenz. She is a member of Lehre^n and acts as a peer review report for various organizations.
